In certain ways, this article is similar to the previous
one. The author talks all about the specific design moves and goes into great
depth in the description of each move. The First of the moves is “Hidden Moves
in Plain Sight- What Design Does”. There are several points that follow along
under this first Move.
-Making
abstract ideas tangible
-Engaging
the user to help create a more fitting solution
-Focusing
stakeholders on the idea
-Supporting,
negotiating among stakeholders as it reveals values and implications of the design
-Supporting
decision-making
The second move, “The Social Science Connection”, also makes
several points about design and its proper usage within the context of the
article.
-Designers
don’t do science and don’t observe patterns or relationships
-Designers need to experience and
understand the context that their design is expected to work with
-Designers must see and learn from
real users interacting with their prototypes
-Nature of design is opportunistic,
creative, and reflective
The third move is prototypes. This involves all the
prototypes and shows tons of images that are interactively engaging. The
Prototypes are: Conceptual, Behavioral, Procedural and Appearance. Much like
the last article, this article kept me
interested the whole time because the content was very beneficial.
